Author's Note

Michelle D. Sonnier, the Author

In which our heroine says, “Wow, that really got away from me…”

So life…. Yeah. Like so many out there I am dealing with raising a small child along with my husband (the child is now 4! when did that happen??) and making it through the day-to-day of the day job so I can pay the mortgage, buy the groceries, and keep the lights on. Oh, and trying to get the creative work done.

I have been getting some good creative work done. Remember that NaNoWriMo “novella” I started writing live (see old posts below) and then things fell apart? Well, I revisited it and the characters started talking to me again – LOUD. And it just kept growing. The current word count stands at 63,259 (just over 250 pages), well into novel territory, and I’m not quite done. But I’m close! I think this will be ready for late summer/early fall release (if I beg my editor pretty enough to push it through fast).

And I’ve been working hard with Otter Libris to put together and promote EOM: Equal Opportunity Madness, an anthology of short fiction set in the Cthulhu Mythos with diverse protagonists (my story is titled “The Sisters Derleth”). I hope you’ll drop by the Kickstarter page and give it a look, and if you like what you see please back it.

And this weekend I’ll be a guest at Balticon 51 and I’m so excited to be back at this lovely con, the first one I ever appeared at as a guest and the one I kinda consider home.

There’s a lot going on, and I’m truly going to try to be better about keeping up here, because I like you guys (and I really hope you are still listening).
